Maria Montessori’s research-based curriculum encourages students to choose from activities in a “prepared environment” with an uninterrupted work cycle and freedom of movement.
In Under 2, a child may match language objects to nomenclature cards. In Under 3, wash dishes or label items using their stereognostic sense. In Casa, a three-year-old may wash clothes while a four-year-old composes words from a movable alphabet, and a five-year-old solves multiplication with beads.
Skills enhanced include literacy, numeracy, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, logic, gross and fine motor, and social growth. Children are loved and challenged in equal measure.
